Preview: St. Pius X Panthers vs. Antonian Prep Apaches
After six games on the road, St. Pius X is heading back home. They will take on the Antonian Prep Apaches at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Back in December of 2023, St. Pius X came up short against Worthington Kilbourne and fell 64-55.
Meanwhile, Antonian Prep ended up a good deal behind St. Michael's on Saturday and lost 76-61. While losing is never fun, Antonian Prep can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 50th, while St. Michael's is ranked fifth).
St. Pius X now has a losing record at 11-12. As for Antonian Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 19-6.
St. Pius X might still be hurting after the 62-42 loss they got from Antonian Prep in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Thankfully for St. Pius X, Mitchell Stine (who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and four steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
