The biggest upset of the week belonged to Elko, who took down 34th ranked Dayton, 21-16.

Churchill County extended the longest winning streak in IA Northern this week by beating Fernley, 12-0. The victory was the seventh in a row for the Greenwave.

South Tahoe's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. John Cefalu threw for 342 and six touchdowns and Brandon Kramer had 105 yards receiving. On the ground Dillon Gardner chipped in 90 yards. Kyante Wilson helped South Tahoe's passing attack out by catching five balls for 86 yards.

The Vikings' Cefalu and Wilson have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Cefalu has thrown for 2583 yards this season, while Wilson, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 57 catches for 951 yards. Tyson Ernst from Churchill County leads the league in rushing with 876 yards.

The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Lowry and the Vaqueros. The Buckaroos enters the contest ranked 17th in the state, while Fernley ranks 16th.

South Tahoe's Wilson is a few successful plays short of surpassing 1,000 yards receiving this season. He needs only 49 receiving yards against Spring Creek to hit that benchmark.

The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Brooke Hill's team takes on Truckee. The Greenwave have allowed 65 points this season, while the Wolverines have given up 31. Churchill County allowed 0 points last week as it topped the Vaqueros.

The Vikings moved up to 36 from 678 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in IA Northern. South Tahoe was able to make the jump by topping Sparks 50-14.
