Preview: Doral Academy Firebirds vs. St. Brendan Sabres
Doral Academy is 6-0 against St. Brendan since December of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Doral Academy Firebirds will head out on the road to face off against the St. Brendan Sabres at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
On Monday, Doral Academy was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 47-46 to Chaminade-Madonna.
St. Brendan has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 61-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of South Plantation on Saturday.
Doral Academy bumped their record down to 6-8 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for St. Brendan, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-6.
Everything came up roses for Doral Academy against St. Brendan in their previous meeting back in January of 2019 as the squad secured a 53-22 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Doral Academy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
