Basketball Recap: Midland Valley Takes a Loss

Midland Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They received a blow as they fell 61-42 to the Evans Knights. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Evans found their leader in sophomore Chabria Tate, who posted 30 points in addition to six boards and four steals. Tate is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Janiyah Quiller, who went 5 for 8 on her way to 12 points and six steals.

Midland Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Evans, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-2.

Midland Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 68-36 loss against Josey on the 4th. As for Evans, they will look to defend their home court on January 7th against Greenbrier at 6:30 p.m.
