Baseball Recap: Ogden Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Ogden challenged Payson on Friday. The Tigers came up short against the Lions, falling 18-9. The Tigers just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.

Dominic Piper was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Rodrigo Torres, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and one double.

Ogden's defeat dropped their record down to 2-18. As for Payson, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-13.

Looking ahead, Ogden will host Ben Lomond at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Scots have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.36 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Payson, they are taking a road trip to square off against Juab at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Lions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wasps have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season.
