Dexter had won four straight games and Langston Wernneck did his part to make it five on Saturday. The Bearcats walked away with a 28-17 win over the Southern Boone Eagles thanks in part to Wernneck, who picked up 103 receiving yards and one touchdown, and also rushed for 62 yards and one TD. He got the majority of those receiving yards when he pulled down a pass and took off for a gain of 88 yards.

Dexter's record is now 5-0. As for Southern Boone, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.

Looking ahead, Dexter will welcome Kelly at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Southern Boone, they will venture away from home to face off against Eldon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
