Volleyball Game Preview: West Jessamine Colts vs. Lafayette Generals

The West Jessamine Colts will face off against the Lafayette Generals at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

West Jessamine is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Kentucky's top teams: Paul Laurence Dunbar, who was ranked sixth at the time (West Jessamine was ranked ninth). The Colts fell 3-1 to the Bulldogs two weeks ago. The Colts haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

West Jessamine was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Paul Laurence Dunbar work for it, especially in the fourth set. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 19-25, 25-20, 28-26.

Meanwhile, Lafayette entered their matchup against Henry Clay on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Generals took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Blue Devils.

The final score came out to 25-18, 25-20, 24-26, 25-15.

West Jessamine's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Lafayette, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 11-7.

West Jessamine beat Lafayette 2-0 in their previous matchup back in March. Do the Colts have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Generals turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
