Recap: Bryn Mawr Mawrtians vs. Northern Patriots
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Bryn Mawr Mawrtians ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 46-44 victory over Northern. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Bryn Mawr.
Despite the loss, Northern still got an impressive performance from Haley Longfellow, who scored 17 points. That's the first time this season that Longfellow scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Lane, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.
Bryn Mawr's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Northern, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bryn Mawr will take on St. John's Catholic Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Northern, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against North Point at 6:00 p.m. North Point is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
