Baseball Recap: Freeport Takes a Loss

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Freeport's offense. They fell just short of the Lighthouse Private Christian Academy Stingrays by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday. The Bulldogs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Stingrays earlier this season, when they won 5-4.

Freeport got a good showing from Caleb Hoogewerf, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

Freeport has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-3 record this season. The victory was the third in a row for Lighthouse Private Christian Academy, bringing their record for this year to 5-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Freeport will face off against West Florida Baptist Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Freeport is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season. As for Lighthouse Private Christian Academy, they will take on Pine Forest at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lighthouse Private Christian Academy is facing Pine Forest at the right time seeing as Pine Forest is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
