Basketball Recap: Saranac Lake Takes a Loss

Saranac Lake has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 56-45 to the Moriah Vikings on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 57-48 back in December of 2024.

It was another big night for Cooper Allen, who dropped a double-double with 30 points and 11 boards for Moriah. Allen's evening made it 25 games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Chase McGinness, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds.

Saranac Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Moriah, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.

Saranac Lake does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Moriah, they will be playing at home against Beekmantown at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Moriah knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 18 contests -- so hopefully Beekmantown likes a good challenge.
