The Baboquivari Warriors are taking a road trip to take on the Mogollon Mustangs at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Friday, Baboquivari sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 13-12 win over Duncan. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Warriors.

Jesse Buendia was incredible, going 2-for-4 with five stolen bases and two runs. Baboquivari is 3-1 when Buendia posts two or more runs, but 3-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Ezekiel Hendricks, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with four stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Baboquivari always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .575. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Mogollon waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by a 22-1 margin over the Spartans. Considering the Mustangs have won ten contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Chancy Worsley made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hadley Porter, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That home run was his first of the season. Anthony Pimentel was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and three RBI.
Mogollon pushed their record up to 19-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Baboquivari, their record is now 6-9.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Baboquivari has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 11.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Mogollon struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Baboquivari came up short against Mogollon in their previous meeting back in May of 2019, falling 6-1. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
