Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Wiley

Wiley had won two straight games and Lexie Lubbers did her part to make it three on Saturday. The Wiley Panthers were the clear victor by a 48-22 margin over the Deer Trail Eagles thanks in part to Lubbers, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten boards. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Wiley's points.

Mckenzie Mapes was another key player, going 6 for 15 en route to 17 points and six rebounds. Those 17 points gave her a new career-high.

Wiley's win bumped their record up to 3-9. As for Deer Trail, they now have a losing record at 4-5.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Wiley Panthers face off against the Granada Bobcats at 2:00 p.m. on February 1st. As for Deer Trail, they will square off against Kiowa at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Deer Trail is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.
