Football Game Preview: Union Mine Diamondbacks vs. Highlands Scots + Official Tickets

The Union Mine Diamondbacks will venture away from home to take on the Highlands Scots at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

On Thursday, Union Mine was just a hair shy of victory and fell 17-16 to El Dorado.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Highlands against Esparto on Thursday as the team secured a 42-6 victory. The Scots pushed the score to 30-6 by the end of the third, a deficit the Spartans had little chance of recovering from.

Union Mine better keep an eye on Odin McNabb. He was instrumental in Highlands' win, throwing for 451 yards and five TDs while picking up 14.1 yards per attempt, and also punching in one rushing score. The dominant performance also gave McNabb a new career-high in rushing yards (two). A healthy portion of McNabb's aerial production (157 yards to be exact) went to Khirhi Hackett, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Highlands didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Makeyo Butler and Jonathan Rodriguez.

Union Mine dropped their record down to 2-8 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Highlands, their record now sits at 4-6.
