Basketball Recap: Sophie Kartchner Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat North Star

Compass Charter won the last time they faced North Star and things went their way on Monday too. The Compass Charter Aviators came out on top against the North Star Huskies by a score of 44-31. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Aviators.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Compass Charter to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sophie Kartchner, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine steals. Kartchner is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Deasy, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds.

Compass Charter smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 29 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Compass Charter's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 13-6. As for North Star, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season.

Compass Charter will welcome Rimrock at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for North Star, they will head out to square off against Centennial Baptist at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
