Softball Recap: Vallejo Takes a Loss

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Vallejo's offense. They lost 17-0 to the El Cerrito Gauchos on Wednesday. Having soared to a lofty 20 runs in the game before, the Redhawks' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Vallejo's loss dropped their record down to 2-2-1. As for El Cerrito, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Looking ahead, Vallejo will look to defend their home field on Friday against Kennedy at 4:00 p.m. Vallejo has given up an average of 12.6 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for El Cerrito, they will venture away from home to take on Richmond at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. El Cerrito knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Richmond likes a good challenge.
