Baseball Recap: Avon Park Comes Up Short

Avon Park and McKeel Academy squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Avon Park had to settle for second. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats. The Red Devils were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2019.

Avon Park saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carson Cloud, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Avon Park's loss dropped their record down to 19-8. As for McKeel Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season.

While Avon Park had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
