Football Recap: Briarwood Academy Buccaneers vs. Windsor Academy Knights
Briarwood Academy put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 49-12 victory over the Windsor Academy Knights. Fans of the Buccaneers have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.
Charlie Mosley was his usual excellent self, rushing for 186 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.3 yards per carry. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in August of 2023. Another player making a difference was Cutler Fleming, who threw for 172 yards and four touchdowns.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Briarwood Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 304 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Windsor Academy only rushed for 101.
Briarwood Academy wouldn't let Windsor Academy keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Briarwood Academy can thank Mason Poss and Mosley for forcing both of them.
Although Windsor Academy took the loss, they still got scores from Jay Singleton and Dawson Sims.
Briarwood Academy's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Windsor Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-3.
Briarwood Academy will take on Brentwood at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Brentwood knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 point or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Briarwood Academy likes a good challenge. As for Windsor Academy, they will welcome Rock Springs Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Rock Springs Christian Academy is coming into the game with three straight victories on the road, so Windsor Academy will have to stop a team with plenty of momentum.
