Basketball Recap: Friday's Win Is Abbeville's Seventh in Last Eight Outings

Abbeville took a 22-point defeat the last time they faced off against Thornwell, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Abbeville Panthers had just enough and edged the Thornwell Saints out 37-34. 37 seems to be a good number for the Panthers as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.

Abbeville found their leader in sophomore Lauryn Murray, who shot 4-for-7 from downtown and dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 boards. Those 17 points set a new season-high mark for Murray.

Abbeville smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in 12 consecutive contests.
