The Shorecrest Prep Chargers are taking a road trip to face off against the Seminole Warhawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
While Shorecrest Prep's win against Sports Leadership & Management wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Shorecrest Prep sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 15-14 victory over Sports Leadership & Management on Tuesday. That's two games straight that the Chargers have won by just one run.
Luke Lavoie made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jake Diner, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Shorecrest Prep is undefeated when Diner posts two or more runs, but 2-3 otherwise. Carson Granese also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Shorecrest Prep lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Seminole got themselves on the board against Northeast on Thursday, but Northeast never followed suit. They were the clear victor by a 10-0 margin over the Vikings. Considering the Warhawks have won six contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Mack McGinnis and Cade Palestra did most of the damage at the plate: McGinnis scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4, while Palestra scored a run while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Noah Ritchie, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
Shorecrest Prep has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. Seminole's record now sits at 9-3.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Shorecrest Prep has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Seminole struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
