Softball Recap: Green Ridge Sets Scoring Season-High Against Osceola

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Green Ridge). They were the clear victors by a 29-2 margin over the Osceola Indians on Friday. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by seven runs or more this season.

Mikensey Devorss was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. Devorss was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Kayden Box was incredible, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Abby Warner was another key player, getting on base in four of her six plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.

Green Ridge always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .884. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Green Ridge is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.8 runs over those games. As for Osceola, they are on an 18-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-13.

Looking ahead, Green Ridge will host Versailles at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Osceola, they will head out on the road to face off against Midway at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
