Soccer Game Preview: Locke vs. Harbor Teacher

Locke is a perfect 3-0 against Harbor Teacher since December of 2024 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Saints will be playing in front of their home fans against the Monarchs at 4:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Locke has four straight wins, Harbor Teacher has 11 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

If Harbor Teacher heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Locke took over last week. The Saints came out on top against Port of Los Angeles by a score of 3-1 on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Harbor Teacher's offense. They came up short against King/Drew on Wednesday, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, Harbor Teacher can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 1209th, while King/Drew are ranked 302nd).

Locke now has a winning record of 8-7-3. As for Harbor Teacher, their loss dropped their record down to 1-13.

Locke got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in January against Harbor Teacher by a conclusive 14-0 score. Do the Saints have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Monarchs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
