Baseball Recap: United Triumphs

United won the last time they faced Del Rio and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Longhorns sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 victory over the Rams.

Alonso Barbarena spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up six Ks. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because United is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 6-9-1 otherwise.

At the plate, United saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Michael Guerra, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that Guerra has hit this season.

United's win bumped their record up to 8-10-1. As for Del Rio, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season.

United will have a chance to go back-to-back against Del Rio: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
