Collegiate proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by 15) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a run and slipped past the Benedictine Cadets 6-5. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Cadets recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Collegiate's victory bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Benedictine, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-8.

Looking ahead, Collegiate will venture away from home to square off against St. Anne's-Belfield at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Benedictine, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 6-5 loss against Cape Henry Collegiate on the 11th.
