Basketball Recap: Pasadena Memorial Comes Up Short

Pasadena Memorial lost against Shadow Creek back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Pasadena Memorial Mavericks were beaten by the Shadow Creek Sharks 92-24. While losing is never fun, the Mavericks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1048th, while the Sharks are ranked 152nd).

When it comes to explaining why Pasadena Memorial lost, don't look at Emma Reeves. Despite the final result, she posted eight points.

Shadow Creek got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Aliyah Woodard out in front who went 6 for 9 on her way to 20 points and three steals. Woodard is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. Another player making a difference was Gianna Gentry, who went 5 of 11 en route to 15 points and six steals.

Pasadena Memorial has been struggling recently as they've lost 14 of their last 16 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-19 record this season. As for Shadow Creek, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 23-10.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Pearland the next time they take the court. Pasadena Memorial will host Pearland at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Shadow Creek will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
