Basketball Recap: Live Oak Classical Snags 24th Victory in Last 26 Games

Live Oak Classical extended their postseason success on Wednesday against Alpha Omega Academy. They took down the Alpha Omega Academy Lions 53-37. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 363rd, while the Lions are ranked 1044th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Tristan Wilson was his usual excellent self, going 8-for-16 to rack up 27 points. That's the most points he has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jayden Ogden, who had eight points in addition to seven rebounds and six assists.

Live Oak Classical smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in five consecutive contests.

Live Oak Classical has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 24 of their last 26 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 29-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.8 points over those games. With the loss, Alpha Omega Academy broke their seven-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-10.

Live Oak Classical didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 55-45 defeat against Yavneh Academy on the 27th. Alpha Omega Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
