Soccer Game Preview: Eagle Pass vs. Nixon

The Eagle Pass Eagles will venture away from home to take on the Nixon Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Eagle Pass is likely headed into the match with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against John F. Kennedy on Friday. The Eagles fell just short of the Rockets by a score of 2-1. The loss was Eagle Pass' first of the season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Nixon). While the 3-3 score might suggest a draw, it was the Mustangs who were credited with the victory on Saturday. Nixon got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to Sharyland's four.

The Mustangs hit the Rattlers with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Pedro Zapata, Frank Quiroz, and Edgar Mora.

The win got Nixon back to even at 2-2-1. As for Eagle Pass, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1-2.

Eagle Pass might still be hurting after the 4-0 defeat they got from Nixon in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
