Basketball Recap: Chrisshona Bargaineer's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Pine Forest over Fort Walton Beach

Pine Forest lost against Fort Walton Beach back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Pine Forest Eagles fell just short of the Fort Walton Beach Vikings by a score of 49-46. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Chrisshona Bargaineer, who went 5 of 12 en route to 19 points along with seven boards and four steals. The dominant performance gave Bargaineer a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Laila Snow, who went 5 of 11 on her way to 14 points and four steals.

Fort Walton Beach found their leader in sophomore SaRaun Newton, who posted 17 points. Alexis Smith was another key player, putting up eight points.

Pine Forest's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Fort Walton Beach, they moved to 2-5 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Pine Forest didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 46-35 loss against Choctawhatchee on the 6th. As for Fort Walton Beach, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 47-39 win against Niceville on the 10th.
