Basketball Recap: Bishop Verot Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

On Friday, the Bishop Verot Vikings ended up a good deal behind the North Broward Prep Eagles and lost 60-41.

Bishop Verot's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jerry Ashley, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 boards. Ashley is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: he's pulled down at least nine every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Austin Leslie, who posted seven points in addition to 11 rebounds and four steals.

North Broward Prep got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Cristian Rosado out in front who had 16 points along with five boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Smith, who posted 14 points.

Bishop Verot's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 5-2. As for North Broward Prep, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4.

Bishop Verot didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 58-41 win against Coral Gables on the 21st. As for North Broward Prep, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 66-54 loss against Union Catholic on the 26th.
