Meanwhile, California Military Institute was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Desert Christian Academy, falling 21-9.
Alanis Nunez and Fernanda Torres stepped up to the plate in a big way. Nunez went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI, while Torres scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Delgado, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
California Military Institute's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for San Jacinto Valley Academy, their win bumped their record up to 5-7.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. San Jacinto Valley Academy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like California Military Institute struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
