Recap: Jackson Ironman/Ironladies vs. Washington Blue Lions
The Jackson Ironman/Ironladies waltzed into their match on Wednesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They enjoyed a cozy 56-42 victory over Washington. Given Jackson's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 83rd, while Washington is ranked 499th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Mattie Walburn continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of T.j. Carpenter, who scored 14 points.
Jackson's victory bumped their record up to 12-2. As for Washington, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jackson will challenge Fairfield at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Washington, they will head out on the road to take on McClain at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
