Basketball Recap: Northwestern Comes Up Short

Northwestern was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were beaten by the Chippewa Chipps 80-15. The Huskies were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-6.

Northwestern's record now sits at 2-8. As for Chippewa, their victory bumped their record up to 5-6.

Northwestern and Chippewa could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. Northwestern (ranked 607th) will meet Mapleton (ranked 242nd) at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Similarly, Chippewa will face off against Streetsboro at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday down 201 places (299 vs. 98).
