Baseball Game Preview: Rich Township Raptors vs. Bloom Blazing Trojan

Rich Township is preparing for their first conference matchup of the season on Monday. They will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Bloom Blazing Trojan at 4:30 p.m. Bloom took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Rich Township, who comes in off a win.

Rich Township is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Blue Island Eisenhower 10-3 on Saturday. The Raptors not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since May 2, 2024.

Rich Township's win was truly a team effort as eight different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Maurice Pinkney, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. Those hits marked the first that Pinkney got this season.

Meanwhile, Bloom might've scored the first runs on Thursday, but it was Manteno who claimed the real prize. The Blazing Trojan took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers. The Blazing Trojan haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Rich Township's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Bloom, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.

Rich Township skirted past Bloom 13-12 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Do the Raptors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Blazing Trojan turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
