Basketball Game Preview: Port St. Lucie Jaguars vs. Central Cobras

The Port St. Lucie Jaguars will venture away from home to square off against the Central Cobras at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Port St. Lucie is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.9 points per game this season.

Port St. Lucie saw some tournament action on Thursday. They took a 52-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Palm Beach Lakes. The Jaguars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The losing side was boosted by Alijah Baez, who posted 11 points. Daniel Alexis was another key player, putting up ten points.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Central). They blew past Lake Worth 81-54 on Saturday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Port St. Lucie's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Central, the win got them back to even at 5-5.

Port St. Lucie came out on top in a nail-biter against Central in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, sneaking past 70-68. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Central's Joseph Gayle, who went 13 of 22 en route to 30 points and five rebounds. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Port St. Lucie still be able to contain Gayle? There's only one way to find out.
