Softball Recap: Chicago Christian Comes Up Short

Chicago Christian extended their losing streak to eight on Monday, dropping their season record down to 1-9 in the process. They came up short against the Timothy Christian Trojans, falling 14-3. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Knights of the 12-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Abby Moro was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Brianna Harris, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

As for Timothy Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2. Considering they have won four matches by more than nine runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

On Timothy Christian's side, the team relied heavily on Sophia Mook, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Mook also put up a triple, which was her first of the season. Chloe Granger was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles.

Coming up, Chicago Christian will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Edward at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Timothy Christian will be paying especially close attention to the Knights' game: after the Knights face off against the Green Wave, they'll take on Timothy Christian again at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
