Baseball Recap: Marion Takes a Loss

Marion was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 7-4 to the Muncie Central Bearcats. The Giants were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bearcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Marion saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gage Stickann, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one run.

Marion's defeat dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Muncie Central, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-10.

Marion and Muncie Central could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings. The Giants will face off against Madison-Grant at 5:00 p.m. on Monday with a big rank disadvantage (342 vs. 123). Meanwhile, Muncie Central (ranked 332nd) will meet Delta (ranked 90th) at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
