Soccer Game Preview: Greater Cabarrus S vs. Davidson Day

The Greater Cabarrus S Stallions are taking a road trip to challenge the Davidson Day Patriots at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Last Tuesday, Greater Cabarrus S got the win against Kingdom Leadership Academy by a conclusive 5-1. With Greater Cabarrus S ahead 4-0 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Davidson Day, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They never let Asheville School (Independent) get on the board and left with a 5-0 win on Tuesday. Given Davidson Day's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 46th, while Asheville School (Independent) are ranked 298th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Davidson Day's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 34 goals over those six games. As for Greater Cabarrus S, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-4.
