Soccer Game Preview: Daniel vs. Greer

The Daniel Lions will square off against the Greer Yellow Jackets at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Daniel is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Eastside just ended the team's six-game winning streak on Monday. They fell 2-0 to the Eagles. While getting shut out isn't ideal, Daniel haven't been shut out since back in March.

Meanwhile, Greer fell victim to Greenville H and their airtight defense on Friday. They came up short against the Hurricanes, falling 4-0. While losing is never fun, Greer can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 95th, while Greenville H are ranked 23rd).

Greer's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-3. As for Daniel, their loss dropped their record down to 7-3-1.

Everything went Daniel's way against Greer in their previous matchup back in May of 2019, as Daniel made off with a 4-1 win. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Yellow Jackets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
