Oregon hadn't done well against Waunakee recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Oregon Panthers narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Waunakee Warriors 74-71. The win was all the more spectacular given the Panthers' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 124th, while the Warriors are ranked sixth).

The victory got Oregon back to even at 9-9. As for Waunakee, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oregon and Middleton will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. As for Waunakee, they will face off against Beaver Dam at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
