Softball Game Preview: Sickles Gryphons vs. Wesley Chapel Wildcats

The Sickles Gryphons will head out to face off against the Wesley Chapel Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Sickles played against Blake on Monday and won via forfeit.

Sickles will be up against a hot Wesley Chapel squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Wildcats came out on top against Sumner by a score of 10-6 on Tuesday.

The team relied heavily on Bailey Garrison, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendall McCants, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Wesley Chapel pushed their record up to 12-10 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Sickles, their win bumped their record up to 9-15.

Sickles came up short against Wesley Chapel in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, falling 10-7. Can the Gryphons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
