Fowler extended their winning streak to 13 on Friday, bumping their season record up to 16-2 in the process. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 victory over the Las Animas Trojans. The game was the first time the Grizzlies have beaten the Trojans on their field since May 17, 2022.

Joe Salvo made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Salvo wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Hagen McCuistion, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

As for Las Animas, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-4. Trojans fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against Fowler since on Friday.

On Las Animas' side, Damien Baca spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on five hits and racked up nine Ks.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Fowler beat the Trojans by a score of 3-2 later that day.
