Batesville and Connersville are an even 5-5 against one another since October of 2015, but likely not for long. The Bulldogs will challenge the Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Batesville fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against East Central on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 1-0. While losing is never fun, Batesville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana soccer rankings (they are ranked 225th, while East Central are ranked 82nd).

Meanwhile, Connersville's game on Saturday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They never let Jay County get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory. Connersville's winning goal came courtesy of Kingston O'Toole.

Batesville's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8-2. As for Connersville, the win got them back to even at 7-7-1.
