Softball Recap: Columbia Central Drops Highest Score of Season Against Adrian

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Columbia Central). They were the clear victors by a 19-0 margin over the Adrian Maples on Wednesday. Considering the Golden Eagles have won nine matches by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Leelyn Brown was a standout: she got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Rylee Knapp, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Columbia Central's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 15-6. As for Adrian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-17 record this season.

Columbia Central will welcome Napoleon at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Adrian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
