Volleyball Recap: Lake Park Lancers vs. Prospect Knights
Lake Park was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Prospect Knights. The Lancers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.
Lake Park was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Prospect work for it, especially in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 26-24, 15-11.
Amirah Dyer paced Lake Park's offense, picking up eight kills. Dyer got some help from Evelyn Voytek and her 14 assists. Finally, Kaitlyn Grumeretz kept Lake Park's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.
Lake Park's loss dropped their record down to 8-16. As for Prospect, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-9.
Lake Park has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Maine East on the 4th. As for Prospect, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against Hersey on the 4th.
