Basketball Recap: Monticello Comes Up Short

Monticello was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 20th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Downsville Central Eagles and fell 58-16. The Panthers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-9.

Despite the loss, Monticello had strong showings from Julissa Velez, who posted six points and ten rebounds, and Reiley Schloicka, who scored no points. Schloicka has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played.
