Volleyball Recap: Fivay Comes Up Short at Home Against Land O' Lakes

Fivay unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Land O' Lakes Gators on Tuesday, falling 3-0. If the Falcons were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Gators when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-14, 25-11.

Morgan Bozarth paced Fivay's offense, picking up three kills. Bozarth got some help from Aaliyah Ciardullo and her seven assists. Sydney Mularz controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Land O' Lakes got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Amelia Colon out in front who had 22 digs and five aces. Colon is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last 21 games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Arianna Garcia, who had ten digs and three aces.

Fivay has already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against Anclote on the 21st. As for Land O' Lakes, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Tampa Prep on the 21st.
