Softball Recap: University Wins Going Away Against Taylor

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask University). They blew past the Taylor Wildcats 21-13 on Thursday. With that victory, the Titans brought their scoring average up to 9.5 runs per game.

Kendra Lee was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over 4.2 innings pitched. Lee was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 3-for-5.

In other batting news, University got a massive performance out of Mia Fisher, who went 3-for-6 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. The dominant performance gave Fisher a new career-high in RBI. Olivia Boon also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

University always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .569. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win made it two in a row for University and bumps their season record up to 3-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Taylor, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

We've got a battle between Titans coming up. University is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.5 runs per game this season. As for Taylor, they will welcome Pine Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Taylor's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three matchups.
