Football Recap: Edgewood Comes Up Short

Edgewood scored first but ultimately less than Sullivan in their game on Friday. They took a 28-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Golden Arrows. The Mustangs have struggled against the Golden Arrows recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, Edgewood still got an impressive performance from Braxton Carpenter, who rushed for 123 yards. Evan Enghauser made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Clark French continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Sullivan, rushing for 197 yards and one TD while picking up 7.9 yards per carry. French also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, forcing one fumble and making two total tackles.

Edgewood's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 5-2. As for Sullivan, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-3.

Edgewood has already played their next matchup, a 35-7 loss against Northview on the 10th. As for Sullivan, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 77-20 victory against Park Tudor on the 10th.
