The Lenoir City Panthers will face off against the Midway Green Wave at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lenoir City is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.
Lenoir City made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Sequoyah, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Panthers were the clear victors by an 11-5 margin over the Chiefs on Tuesday. Considering the Panthers have won seven games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Kymbal Williams was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits. Williams was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Sophie Reed was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Reagan Helton, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Lenoir City kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 8-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Midway came up short against Coalfield on Tuesday, falling 10-4. The loss continues a trend for the Green Wave in their meetings with the Yellow Jackets: they've now lost four in a row.
Midway saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Myley Nickell, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Nickell also put up a run, which was her first of the season.
Lenoir City pushed their record up to 11-5 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Midway, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-12.
Midway's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Lenoir City hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .365. It's a different story for Midway, though, as they've only averaged .253. Will they be able to contain Lenoir City's hitters?
Lenoir City took their victory against Midway in their previous meeting back in March by a conclusive 20-10 score. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Green Wave turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
