Basketball Recap: Walsh Jesuit Comes Up Short

Walsh Jesuit and Padua Franciscan squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Walsh Jesuit had to settle for second. They took a blow against the Padua Franciscan Bruins, falling 67-31. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Warriors have suffered since December 9, 2024.

Walsh Jesuit's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kara Esterak, who posted 11 points. Leah Sobolewski was another key player, putting up nine points and six boards.

Walsh Jesuit's loss dropped their record down to 14-10. As for Padua Franciscan, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-8.

Walsh Jesuit does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Padua Franciscan, they will take on Archbishop Hoban in a tournament on Saturday.
