Softball Recap: McAdory Comes Up Short

Gardendale hit McAdory with a four-run sixth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Yellowjackets fell just short of the Rockets by a score of 8-7. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rockets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-9 on April 1st.

Bailey Freeman was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Sherdian Kynard, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

McAdory's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 20-11-1. As for Gardendale, their victory bumped their record up to 22-16-1.

Coming up, McAdory will square off against Bessemer City at 12:00 p.m. on Monday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.13 runs per game on average), something the Yellowjackets will no doubt try to take advantage of. Gardendale does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
